圓葉聚濃陰 , 黃花紫蕊芯。隨風搖曳落 , 細賞把詩吟。

Cuban Bast【By Charles Wu】
The round leaves of Cuban Bast overcast a dense shade.
Inside its yellow petals, purple pistils are laid.
Its flickering blossoms dance with the wind in Autumn.
Poets admire their falling gestures and chant poem.

翠葉參差艷，丹珠淺復深。時珍誰不惜，藥草遇知音。

Heavenly Bamboo【By Charles Wu】

Its uneven leaves are vividly green and gaudy.

Its fruits look pale red and crimson like pearls of beauty.

All gardeners treat this plant as their dearest treasure.

Such medical herb meets its bosom Chinese doctor.

菊殘霜早侵 , 風凜仲冬臨。嫩竹迎寒翠 ; 奇松耀日金。
圍爐溫酒飲 ; 踏雪冷梅尋。窮節推敲樂 , 詩翁惜晚陰。

Midwinter【By Charles Wu】
Frost attacks the withered chrysanthemum in the morning.
Cold wind roars to inform that the midwinter is coming.
Bamboo trees are still green welcoming the chilly weather.
The sun shines on the strangely shaped pine looking much browner.
People sit near the stove to warm the wine before drinking.
Stepping on the snow, some enjoy the icy plum blooming.
The merry poet would stay at his home to write poem.
He cherishes the winter time and does not feel lonesome.

Fish And Shrimp [1]【By Charles Wu】
I sigh with deep feeling that fish and shrimp are but children.
They are slap-happy to play in the net of the fisherman.
Seafood merchants become fierce and cruel butchers,
Who exhibit them in a pool to attract buyers.

Fish and shrimp[2]【By Charles Wu】
You need not sigh furiously because of the gluttons.
Since ancient times, fish and shrimp have been cooked with onions.
Excessive catch should be prevented and even God says no !
We must protect the existing resource on the earth so.

Banned from race in Macau , the greyhound is so surprised.
With high seniority, it is demoralized.
The dissolute dog sighs for its past glory and fate.
In awards ceremony, it admires its old mate.

The baby hawk born on the cliff becomes a hunting tool.
It worths thousand dollars as it is tame, rapid and cool.
Breaking its wing accidentally, it is abandoned.
“ Why treat your pet so cruelly ?” its master is questioned.

The candlenut tree seems to chant poem as the wind blows.

Its leaves sleep under the moonlight casting queer shadows.

At a quiet night, insects chirp now and then near its root.

Autumn symphony is played with dropping sound of its fruit.

She dressed weak clothes and ate simple food to save money;
As school fees for her son, “Chun-hwa” who was her honey.
The greatness of mother-love touched everybody.
Her son finished his study and returned to his country;
He should be filial to his mother and treat her kindly.

At China website, we exchange intimate greeting.
We are so happy that poesy had no boundary.
In Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland, poems are chanted freely.

The Castle Peak is near the seashore with fishing boats.

Fishermen sell their harvest in exchange of banknotes.

Tourists enjoy tea and seafood prepared with spring water.

They have to pay more as the shrimps and crabs are fresher.

We can hear fish jumping from shallow water in such deep night.

Shining the lake near a cypress dyke, the moon looks so bright.

On some jagged boulders, we sit and enjoy the view.

The whirling low tree makes our clothes wet with the morning dew.

Heavy fog immerses forest and blocks morning sun.
Seeing no sunlight at “Guang-Ming” peak due to weather.
The cable car out of service, cannot take any customer.
To rush down Mount “Huang” in rain shower has no fun.

A Reverie In The Mid-autumn Festival【By Charles Wu】
In China, festival music is played by young and old.
Reunion is better than the full moon and gold.
“Wu-gang” stops cutting trees and drinks wine to celebrate.
His rabbit takes a rest while sings happily in this date.
“Hou-yi” drops his bow and puts off his armour to relax.
With a smile, his wife “Chang-er” feels relieved and eats some snacks.
Everybody hopes for a peaceful unification.
All Chinese will return to their motherland without question.

Visiting all bookstores, I try to find some ancient books.
All my friends and relatives give me respectful looks.
I work hard to compose good phrases in my poem.
Sometimes, music and tea are prepared when my guests come.
Enjoying scenery, I am always in good mood.
Casual talk is my interest and mulberry is my food.
Wilfully, I pursue truth, perfection and beauty.
Time is precious and study has no boundary.
